Yoga Leggings Like Lululemon – Comparisons & Reviews 7

In my quest for the highest quality yoga-pants a girl can find at a decent price, I am chronicling my experiments and comparing the wear of several yoga leggings. Since lululemon is one of the more popular brands for luxury yoga pants, that is my current standard for comparison.  Let’s see if I can find yoga leggings like lululemon – at a cheaper price point!

Wunderunder Crop II by Lululemon

  • Fabrics: 82% nylon, 18% Lycra spandex
  • Made in:
  • Price: $88 online ($98 for full-length leggings)
  • Size: 4

Thick and cosy, these fit like a dream (no pilling or stretching too tight from my experience)…if only the price wasn’t quite so high! These leggings are great  for working out, travel and lounging.

yoga leggings like lululemon splits59 I underestimated the amount of stepping stone space I would need for wheel pose- beware of splinters!

Nova Classic Capri Tight by Splits59

  • Fabrics: 88% nylon, 12% spandex
  • Made in: China
  • Price: $90 online
  • Size: small

I found my cobalt blue pair at TJMaxx on sale for the more palatable price of $30. The feel of the fabric is really similar to lululemon leggings, which makes sense since they use the same fabric types in a similar ratio. They are soft and thick and really hug your legs. I found these to be great, especially because I hadn’t paid full price! The pocket stitched into the waistband is a fun silver fabric.

yoga leggings like lululemon dear kates

Hello side-plank, we meet again.

Yoga Pant (Full Length) by Dear Kate

  • Fabrics: Body: 86% Supplex, 14% Spandex. Outer Lining: 76% Nylon, 24% Lycra. Lining: 100% Micropolyester.
  • Made in: the USA
  • Price: $128-$158
  • Size: Small

I won these in a giveaway from Dear Kate, and was excited to try them out. They are super thick, almost like a wet-suit material. While not as soft as lululemon leggings or splits59, they feel pretty good! The fabric lends these leggings a little bit of a shine, and these leggings can pick up lint (if you are like me and laze about in bed before going to yoga). They stay in place while doing yoga. They also have a mini pocket stitched into the waistband, but unlike lululemon and splits59, the bottom of the pocket isn’t stitched, which means you have to keep tucking it back in after washing and wearing. You don’t have to wear underwear with Dear Kates; they have a mini liner.

Mermaids see upside-down as right-side-up

Mermaid Leggings by Arthletic

  • Fabrics: 83% polyester, 17% spandex
  • Made in: Serbia
  • Price: $79
  • Size: Small

The mermaid leggings by Arthletic are beautiful. Materials-wise, I much prefer the lycra to polyester, but the print is fabulous and garners many a compliment. The construction is great, the high waist and long legs means you don’t need to adjust as you move and workout. I like how the long legs extends past my ankles and act as a half-sock or leg warmer.

The Verdict

For comfort, workout wearability and the price I found them at, the splits59 leggings are my favorite pair of yoga leggings. In lieu of finding a great deal like that, lululemon is still my top pick, for now…

I love leggings, but I can never find myself spending more than $30. I currently love my Aeropostale LLD #BESTBOOTYEVER Leggings. But i hear so much amazing things about Lululemon that I am considering purchasing one item!

I am in dire need of some new leggings and I adore the mermaid leggings by Arthletic. I fell and broke my tibia/fibula in 7 places and they had to piece it back together like a jigsaw puzzle and put all these plates and screws in my right leg. I fell because I needed a knee replacement, but was laid off work a week before it was scheduled. I was in the hospital for over a month and when I went home, I got up from my hospital bed to use the bedside toilet. I fell again and shattered my right hip. I didn’t go to the hospital for over 20 days because I refused to believe I had broken something else. I ended up having a hip replacement. Now I need leggings because my legs swell so much and I need to resume physical therapy at home. I think if I look good, I will be able to do more exercises. I hope so. I will let you know. Thanks for the gorgeous material and designs. I look forward to trying them.
